Overview

Description

Tabasco is considered one of the most important cacao-growing regions in Mexico. The Tabasco lowlands were the home of the Olmecs, the “Mother Civilization” of Mesoamerica that built the first cities and pyramids and coined the word “kakawa”. This civilization also grew cacao and produced chocolate over 3000 years ago - to this day Tabasco has remained one of the most important cacao-producing centers in the American continent. Our Tabasqueño origin comes from Comalcalco. This single-estate bean comes from one single farmer named Malaquías, with the assistance of agronomic engineer Carlos Vasquez Zambrano. The cacao is grown in an agroforestry system interspersed with other plants such as tropical flowers, timber trees, citrus, pepper, and mangos. tasting notes: blueberry, almond, molasses ingredients: cacao from Tabasco, piloncillo from San Luis Potosí, organic cacao butter Nut Allergen Warning: Our chocolate is made in a facility that processes tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame seeds.
