Description
Rose Puerh brings a light touch to the world of fermented tea. Most people associate shou (or ripe) puerh with deep, musty flavors. Our single-origin Shou Puerh dips into that earthy territory, yet with a surprising smoothness and creamy texture. The addition of rose petals elevates this tea, with soothing floral notes and a texture reminiscent of fresh strawberries. The brightest aromatic notes linger long after each sip, nearing a slightly fruity tang. All the while, the puerh tea maintains an unobtrusive, full-bodied presence.
We enjoy puerh and other dark teas for many reasons. Fermentation creates a probiotic, gentle cup, lower in caffeine than a black tea. Puerhs don’t turn bitter or astringent, even after long or repeated steeps. They can soothe upset stomachs while tasting rich enough to stand in as a coffee substitute. Rose Puerh makes a perfect introduction to the world of puerh teas. If you’re curious for more, check out our Puerh Sampler to taste the range of this age-old tradition.

Lake Missoula Tea CompanyEstablished 2012
Our mission is to bring you direct-sourced, premium loose leaf teas from around the world. Since 2012, we have traveled all over the globe and built strong relationships with farms we source from today. These trips allow us to build a sustainable, organic source of quality teas from farms working at the village scale. Despite being relatively inaccessible due to their remote, wildland settings, we’ve witnessed the establishment of a workforce – pickers, processors, and farmhands – helping drive local economic development. These personal relationships show how stewardship and tea quality go hand in hand.
