Overview

Description

Lions Mane is celebrated both for it's flavor and health benefits. This is a fun and creative way to grow them in your own kitchen. We developed these kits as a way for people to learn a little more about growing mushrooms than your standard mushroom kits will teach you, and no special equipment is required. This kit includes a 5mL mushroom culture, instructions, a glossary of mycology terms, and a fungi word search. The instructions cover two ways of growing them - the first way being to grow them in a bag of rice on your kitchen counter, the second way is to grow them in a bag or bucket of coffee grounds or straw. There is enough culture included to try both methods.

The Mushroom ConservatoryEstablished 2021

Rooted in curiosity and cultivation, The Mushroom Conservatory grew out of a desire to share the beauty and flavor of gourmet mushrooms with the world. What started as a small growing experiment has turned into a kitchen-table movement - connecting cooks, growers, and makers through the shared language of good food. Every culture and kit we produce is built around flavor, quality, and a respect for the process that brings mushrooms to the table. Our guided by the belief that growing your own food changes the way you see it. We celebrate the craft of growing and the joy of eating well. This is food worth talking about, worth cooking with, and worth sharing. Founded in Michigan by Erin Hamilton, an educator, researcher, and culinary collaborator, The Mushroom Conservatory blends science and gastronomy to make mushroom cultivation approachable and inspiring. Erin’s work spans from classroom and community education to culinary partnerships and research into sustainable fungi-based solutions. Her mission is to show how mushrooms can nourish people, restore ecosystems, and transform the way we think about food.
