Description
Made by a 2nd generation family business in Cambodia, this unusual sweetener is made from small, “Namwa” bananas. With buttery depth and a tangy finish, the sugar dissolves instantly on your tongue, unspooling its lemony aromas. Made by a top-secret process, we’re thrilled to offer this special sugar and support the small communities who are creating this product. Try as a topping for banana muffins, with fruity desserts, or to sweeten cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Margarita.
The process essentially involves mashing ripe bananas, pressing to juice, then boiling everything until it’s just sugar. The sweetness level is 80% of common sugar, making it a great option for when you want a less-sweet drink or dessert.
Tasting Notes: Buttery, caramel-like notes with a tangy, lemony finish.
Uses: Desserts, coffee, tea, banana bread
