MOTHER shrub Pineapple! Originally developed to mirror the fermented pineapple base of tepache for the El Palenque cocktail by Sam Jimenez in the Fall for Mezcal box from Shaker & Spoon, this shrub is a combination of sweet, creamy pineapple and tart apple cider vinegar balanced with just enough cane sugar and finished with a hint of cinnamon and clove. It's our new favorite! Delicious paired with mezcal, tequila, bourbon, rum, vodka, sparkling water... As a child, Meredyth Archer would drink a sweetened vinegar with her grandmother, who thought it was the answer to everything. Years later, she came across a recipe for a raspberry fruit vinegar, or shrub, in a family cookbook from the late 1800s, a hand-me-down. She remembered the tart and sweet taste from her youth and decided to make a batch. Many shared batches later, MOTHER shrub drinking vinegars was born.
