Umami GranolaEstablished 2025

UMAMI GRANOLA is the first Cantonese breakfast granola. Created by Cindy 芝, a first-generation Cantonese American founder born and raised in Chicago, now based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up between two cultures, Cindy navigated the space between an American upbringing and Cantonese roots. Family trips to Guangzhou and Hong Kong meant dim sum mornings with fermented black soybeans, hoisin, and fresh ginger. Afternoons meant tong sui, the Cantonese sweet soups her paternal grandmother made with goji berries and longan. These were the traditions that shaped how she understood food. Culture and intention, brought to breakfast. Not routine. The specific depth of a cuisine that deserved to be there every morning. Granola had followed the same patterns for decades. UMAMI GRANOLA was created to change that. Two blends. Two Cantonese traditions. Dau-Si-Do is our dim sum granola, carrying savory umami depth from fermented black soybeans (豆豉), hoisin, and fresh ginger. Dragon-Eyed Wolf is our tong sui granola, carrying floral sweetness from goji berries, longan, and sweetened condensed milk. Asian and ethnic food categories are growing nearly 4x faster than overall grocery (Circana 2026). Savory breakfast occasions are up 18.5% YoY (Tastewise 2026). 79% of DTC customers purchase both Cantonese blends together. UMAMI GRANOLA recently launched May 1, 2026. AAPI-founded, woman-owned, Brooklyn-made, small-batch.
