Overview

Description

Anellini, the small little rings, come from Rustichella d'Abruzzo, the family pasta maker founded in 1924 in Penne, Abruzzo, and now run by the fourth generation in Moscufo. Made with durum wheat semolina and water, they are one of the first pasta shapes Italian children learn to eat, and a fixture of Italian home cooking. The rings cook in 10 to 12 minutes and stay firm, which makes them ideal in clear chicken or beef broth, finished the traditional way with a poached egg and plenty of Parmigiano, and in baked pasta dishes. A steady everyday seller for Italian delis, specialty grocery, gourmet retail and cafes, and a practical shape for soup and kids' menus in foodservice. The retail-ready bag fits the pasta set or a soup and broth display, and the familiar shape converts easily with shoppers looking for authentic Italian pastina. Cross-sells with chicken and beef broths, Parmigiano Reggiano, tomato sauces and the rest of the Rustichella d'Abruzzo pastina line.
