Overview

Description

Some companies are built around products. Ours was born from a friendship, a family tradition, and an extraordinary little berry. The story begins in the vineyards of the Loire Valley, where Michel Sauvion discovered the remarkable flavor of an unusual berry he named Muroise®. With a passion for craftsmanship and an endless curiosity in the kitchen, he transformed this rare fruit into an exclusive recipe whose unforgettable aroma quickly became the signature of his artisanal jams. In 2012, the next chapter began when Michel's daughter, Estelle Sauvion-Durand, joined forces with her lifelong friend Magali Beck, granddaughter of berry growers. Sharing a love of exceptional fruit, homemade recipes, and authentic French gastronomy, they founded Muroise & Compagnie with one simple ambition: to preserve a cherished family legacy while bringing creativity, joy, and a touch of magic to every jar. Today, this proudly women-led company continues to handcraft its preserves in Vallet, near Nantes, following traditional French methods. Every fruit is carefully selected, prepared by hand, and slowly cooked in copper kettles with just enough unrefined cane sugar to let the natural flavors shine. The result is preserves bursting with generous pieces of fruit and an unmistakable homemade character. But for Estelle and Magali, making jam is about far more than preserving fruit. It is about preserving memories, celebrating the seasons, supporting local growers whenever possible, and surprising customers with inventive recipes that blend tradition with imagination. Their kitchen is a place where classic French savoir-faire meets playful creativity, producing everything from timeless fruit preserves to bold combinations with spices, chocolate, or a splash of fine French spirits. Every jar reflects the spirit of Muroise & Compagnie: joyful, generous, handcrafted, and unmistakably French. It is an invitation to rediscover the simple pleasure of exceptional fruit, lovingly prepared and meant to be shared.
