In early 2002, Lloyd Cooper asked me what I thought about opening a candy business. I was excited about the idea- he had told me of the times in his grandmother’s kitchen helping her make brittle and how much he loved it. He knew he could make this memory a business of his own. In the beginning, this business was just a hobby, as we were a young couple who were just starting a family. We needed to keep our full-time careers so that we could have the insurance and the finances to continue paying our bills. At first, this started out in a small kitchen with the hopes of expanding. For a while, we had a facility not too far from our home, then, only a few years later, we relocated to another property in a different area of Weatherford. We decided to build the business on our property to keep from having extra expenses that weren’t necessary. Today, we are located at 4820 Tin Top Road in Weatherford, TX, 76087. The workspace is now a large, 2800 sq foot building that has all commercial-grade equipment. All the candy is handmade- no machines do the work! The candy is hand stretched daily and packed either in a resealable 8oz clear bag, a 1.5lb bucket, or we also do a 3lb bucket. In August 2022, Lloyd Cooper passed away unexpectedly, however, this did not take the business.
