Our mustard journey began in a pop-up kitchen in Toronto's Little Italy in 2008. Back then we just made one mustard. It looked and tasted a lot like this one: Caplansky's Deli Old Fashioned Mustard. We call it the "caviar of mustards" because its kind of fancy even if we aren't. Old Fashioned Mustard is the perfect accompaniment for charcuterie boards, as a sandwich schmear, salad dressing base or marinade. Caplansky's Deli Old Fashioned Mustard is seasoned with Celery Seed. It imparts a flavour the Japanese call "umami". We promise you've never tasted anything like it. All natural, with no additives or preservatives, this classic whole grain mustard has amazing mouth feel. Enjoy the pop of the yellow and brown seeds. I'm Zane Caplansky, a fourth-generation Deli Man. I make this mustard myself. I opened my own deli in 2008, using many of her cherished recipes. I’m not sure if Bubby Molly made her own mustard, but I do. Initially, we made mustard just for our own sandwiches—until people started stealing them off the tables. That’s when we smartened up, began jarring them, and started selling them. Today, over 600 butcher shops and fine food stores carry our four flavours: Ballpark, Horseradish, Spicy, and Old Fashioned. Caplansky's Deli Mustards are kosher, all-natural, gluten-free, vegan, made in a nut-free facility, and completely free of GMOs. In short, it's basically the best mustard anywhere.
