Description

8 oz. Vegan Hot Chilli Sambal - Jarred Red Chilli Paste A deliciously savory Sambal featuring 100% authentic Southeast Asian flavors. Adds complex heat and rich mushroom umami to everything from soups to sandwiches. Flavored with shiitake mushroom powder, a little goes a long way in adding flavor to all your plant-based dishes. HOW TO USE: Use it as a condiment on the side of a plate of noodles or rice. Pick up a dab with each forkful - you control how much heat each bite needs. Marinate tofu - either alone or in combination with other ingredients. Spice up stir-fries. Mix into vegan mayonnaise or ketchup for a spicy sandwich spread. Also great in grilled cheese sandwiches. Add to soups, stews and casseroles. What people are saying: "The texture of Auria’s vegan sambal is thick and chunky, making it perfect for slathering on sandwiches, but the oily base makes it easy to whisk into sauces, too. I freaking love this sambal. I can’t stop eating it. For vegan folks or people with shellfish allergies, this is such an amazing secret weapon to keep in your pantry to add oomph to any dish that needs a little fire." - Kylie Perrotti, author and chef, Exploring Vegan/Tried and True Recipes

Auria's Malaysian KitchenEstablished 2013

Auria Abraham was born and raised in the tiny township of Seremban, Malaysia. She came to the US for college in '92, with a promise to her mum that she would return home. After a few dates with a young man from Boston, she cooked him a pot of fish curry which led to a marriage proposal. They settled in Brooklyn. In the winter of 2012, to combat her homesickness for tropical Malaysia, she began making spicy Sambals in her Brooklyn kitchen. In 2013, she founded Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen, a jarred Malaysian condiment line comprised of Hot Chili Sambal, Lime Leaf Sambal, Vegan Hot Chilli Sambal, and a trio of spice blends for easy cooking of popular Malaysian dishes. Founded in 2013, each of Auria’s products is made with 100% natural ingredients and heirloom recipes. Locally made in Brooklyn, NY, Auria’s products have been praised by the New York Times, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, Wall Street Journal, Brooklyn Magazine, New York Post, and Gothamist among others. Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen is also recognized as a Fancy Food Fellow, Martha Stewart American Made semifinalist and is a recipient of two 2018 SOFI (Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation) awards.
