Learn about Bow Hill Blueberries
Shop the brand
Established in 1947, Bow Hill Blueberries is the site of the oldest family-run blueberry farm in the agriculturally rich Skagit Valley. The farm, Certified Organic in 2011, focused on soil health and biodiversity. Since its humble postwar beginnings, this small farm has celebrated preservation and diversity at the center of our decisions. Our more than 4,500 bushes produce 10,000 pounds of organic berries per acre. We grow a combination of heirloom varieties for their superior taste and attributes, including Rubel, Stanley, Jersey, and Bluecrop. In 2020, the Ranz-Matheson family took over stewardship of Bow Hill to continue operations and care for the historic farm. As the third family to run Bow Hill Blueberries, we are committed to remaining a family-owned and operated farm. Being a family farm means our customers are our community; we invest in our employees; and we know our processes and products inside and out. Our family is involved in every step from organically fertilizing the plants to picking the berries to bringing you juice, marinade, and more at the farmers' market. In a time of factory farms and corporate retail stores, we want you to know that every purchase directly supports our community and our family's dream. Locals come in with fond memories of picking blueberries in the fields as far back as the 1940s. For many, picking here was their first job! We are proud to continue the legacy of small farm employment and strive to fairly compensate and celebrate the efforts of our farm workers.
