Our Story: Ancient Crunch was born from a bet between our founders Steven and Seth to create a better-tasting tortilla chip using only the healthiest, real ingredients. After a few failed attempts and a lot of experimentation with beef tallow, Steven succeeded, and both friends quit their day jobs to bring MASA to life. After seeing how successful MASA was, Ancient Crunch recently launched Vandy Crisps: a potato chip that follows the same philosophy. Our Chips: MASA Chips are made with just three simple, high-quality ingredients: organic nixtamalized corn, grass-fed beef tallow, and sea salt. No seed oils, pesticides, or artificial additives—just pure, uncompromised flavor. Vandy Crisps follow the same principles and are also made with just three simple, high-quality ingredients: naturally grown potatoes without CIPC, grass-fed beef tallow, and sea salt. Our Process: We start with either nixtamalized corn tortillas (an ancient Aztec method that makes corn more digestible) for MASA or with naturally grown potatoes for Vandy. The tortillas or potatoes (depending on the product) are then fried in 100% grass-fed tallow, a nutrient-dense fat that imparts a rich flavor. Finally, we season the chips with natural spices sourced from artisanal growers worldwide—without any chemical additives or artificial flavors.
