Overview

Description

Big Sky Black is a Scottish Breakfast blend, and our strongest breakfast tea. It pushes up to the edge of astringency, without ever crossing over to bitterness. Our Nuxalbari CTC contributes a dusky fruit note, riding in between leathery and smoke-tinged aromatics. If this tea doesn’t wake you up, then I’m not sure what will. This Scottish Breakfast blend pays tribute to everyone who works their tail off to make ends meet. Most folks who grew up in the Big Sky State (including many of our staff) learn hard work as a matter of course, whether it’s chores on the ranch, long days in the woods, or weary nights waiting tables. We’re proud of our work ethic. But we also don’t mind a strong shot of something tasty as a pick-me-up. That’s where Big Sky Black Scottish Breakfast comes in. Think of a Charlie M. Russell painting: you see the energy and vigor of the American West—but if you stick with the image, you’ll find layers of color and beauty that you didn’t notice at first glance. We think good tea should do both: get the job done, and also satisfy on a deeper level. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.

Lake Missoula Tea CompanyEstablished 2012

Our mission is to bring you direct-sourced, premium loose leaf teas from around the world. Since 2012, we have traveled all over the globe and built strong relationships with farms we source from today. These trips allow us to build a sustainable, organic source of quality teas from farms working at the village scale. Despite being relatively inaccessible due to their remote, wildland settings, we’ve witnessed the establishment of a workforce – pickers, processors, and farmhands – helping drive local economic development. These personal relationships show how stewardship and tea quality go hand in hand.
