Lata was created in early 2021 by 4 friends: Nacho, Vicent, Dani, and Xevi. We met years ago in NYC and bonded over food, soccer, and generally being a Spaniard in the US. When we were in the midst of a global pandemic, our conversations naturally gravitated toward dear moments shared with friends, and thoughts of home. Often around food! We wondered how we could bring our own culture closer to us, and also share it with others. We fell in love with the idea of creating an online community of people who share our passion for vermut, tinned seafood, and the whole culture around it. And that was how Lata was born: to make gourmet tinned seafood and fish more accessible to our American friends. We sourced the best distributors in the US, and then became importers ourselves, picking the top products for taste, quality, and variety.
