The Ovant story starts with Tom Streitberg at his family and spiritual home in Boodjidup Valley, Margaret River. Tom's appreciation of the flavours and aromas of wine was born and grew among the world-famous vineyards of Margaret River in Western Australia. Over time, he began a personal search for this balance. The pleasure and rituals of sharing a drink, balanced with a cleaner way to live. Tom expanded the idea for Ovant with close friend Christopher Bothwell, then Head Sommelier of the iconic three Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester in London. To help bring their vision to life, Tom brought their ideas to Elizabeth Reed, a long-time friend and passionate winemaker in Margaret River. A process of hundreds of trial combinations of botanicals followed. Iterations repeatedly developed, tasted and tested. An obsessive process of gradual refinement of ingredients and techniques. Drawing on the experience of the Margaret River community, with palates honed over decades of vintages, the team developed the elegant and profound flavour and aroma profiles that are the hallmark of Ovant. Bringing the art of winemaking to the science of distilling to create the world’s finest zero-proof distillations. Bridging the gap between drinkers, non-drinkers, and those who just want to drink less.
