The Virginia Diner brand is tied to our legendary restaurant which was established in 1929 and has been a traditional stop along the highway for thousands of travelers over the years. Located in Wakefield, Virginia, the Virginia Diner opened in 1929 as a refurbished railroad dining car. So the stories go, we first started serving up freshly roasted Virginia peanuts for area railroad workers, which eventually evolved into a much larger array of down-home southern comfort foods. Of course our large crunchy Virginia peanuts were a favorite snack and confection ingredient of the Diner, because our location is in the heart of Virginia Peanut Country!
