Sue Charney's love of making candy led to the formation of Red Rocker Candy, LLC in April 2002. She started off making toffees and other gourmet chocolates out of the basement of her home and traveled all around her home state of Virginia, selling at farmer's markets, fairs, and craft shows. After six years, sales increased to where she outgrew her basement kitchen and had to move to an outside production facility in Troy, VA. In 2008, Sue began to experiment with the coating of pretzels in a silky, white confection, thus developing the company's signature and bestselling "Rocking Chair Mix®". She later expanded to include the decadent mixes which included this signature product. In 2024, Sue paired her brand with the well-known “Peanut Capital of the World,” Virginia Diner. It was a natural pairing as the two brands’ delicious products continue to evolve with numerous varieties of Virginia peanuts, nuts, snack mixes, and confections. Still made with love for those you love, Red Rocker mixes continue to be offered to markets and gourmet stores across the United States. Now with new retro-chic labels, re-sealable pouch bags, and a Simply Savory Collection of seasoned nuts, Red Rocker Candy is continuing to wow customers everywhere.
