What started in the kitchen as a past time, turned into a passion during the pandemic, and in 2020, SWITCH® (formerly Scrummy Sweets) was born. We're a ZERO sugar, ZERO BS (bad stuff) candy company that doesn't use any sugar alcohols or artificial ingredients. Siouxie (soo-zie), the Founder and CEO, is a wife, mother, and grandmother who transformed a lifelong struggle with obesity and ill health into a passion for metabolic wellness, leading her to become a rigorous label reader and adopt a strict, zero-sugar, very low-carb diet. Her love for gummy bears, coupled with a need for extra collagen due to a loose connective tissue disease, inspired her to start crafting her own in 2015, as the available sugar-free options either upset her stomach, spiked her blood sugar, or contained undesirable artificial ingredients. This personal project evolved in 2020 when her husband suggested bringing them to market—a journey that revealed the significant challenge of commercially producing truly zero-sugar gummy bears with the clean, organic, and minimally processed ingredients she insists upon. Since then, the product line has expanded to include not only gummies, but caramels, fruity chews, and their best-selling pancake syrup.
