Born from time-honored Italian-American customs in the kitchens of aunts of Di Bruno owners, William, Billy, and Emilio Mignucci, peppers were soaked in vinegar brine and stuffed with aged provolone and prosciutto. It wasn’t long before these delectable treats were introduced to Philadelphia locals and began flying out of the barrels.
